Infill strips act as air dams in vertical and horizontal joints so air pressure equalizes across the cavity, preventing rain and snow from being driven into the wall. Elemex systems have passed AAMA 508-07 for this behaviour. **Do Elemex systems meet North American building codes?** Ceramitex®, Solstex®, and Alumitex® are stated to meet or exceed North American building codes, with NFPA 285 fire testing on each. Ceramitex® additionally holds Florida Product Approval FL26341-R3 (HVHZ), Miami-Dade NOA 23-0901.2, ICC-ES ESR-4169, and NYC OTCR approval. Several Stonitex® fire and system tests are listed as in progress and should be confirmed with Elemex before specification. **Can Elemex systems be used in hurricane zones?** Ceramitex® holds Florida Product Approval FL26341-R3 for use inside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone and Miami-Dade NOA 23-0901.2, supported by TAS 201/202/203 and ASTM E1886 missile impact and cyclic pressure testing. **Can a solar facade pay for itself?** Solstex® generates power while serving as the cladding, so the system cost can be offset against the conventional cladding budget it displaces, and 30% of the installed solar cost can be claimed under the U.S. federal solar investment tax credit on commercial projects.
